I was raised within the confines of clear-cut religious dogma. Part of my deconstruction process has been finding comfort within uncertainty.
This tension is particularly pronounced in the context of parenting teenagers, where wisdom is required for complex, real-life problems. Oh the foregone usefulness of that one-trick-pony named Trust and Obey!
Instead, my advice is anecdotal, muddy and open ended. It feels a bit like the textured path on this painting- a searching, a pinging of various options and then settling on a broad direction.
