For my first career, my worth was based on business and financial successes and how much I could get done in a day. I was a human DOING, not a human BEING. While creating this piece, I noted how this plant did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Its sole purpose was to live, grow, and spread both roots and beauty. I thought, “well, that’s brazen.” If only I had the self confidence to take time to bask-- and do so without a looming sense of guilt.
This piece is a perfect reminder to take time to bask in the sun, in a book, in your family’s smiles. Doing so is as natural as the plants that grow on this planet. You are worth it.
